Artist's Comments

These are recent photos taken of a series of paintings done around this time last year for my end of year show. The theme was 'Dreams' and this is a closeup photograph of a section of one of the paintings. The whole painting can be viewed on my gallery here [link]

This one depicts an eye and was painted onto an existing 'found' picture frame with print of a John Constable painting in the background, you can just make out a horse and cart coming through beneath the paint which was my intention. I was trying to show how our subconscious distorts reality into its own logical form of reality in the dream world, I also looked at the works of Freud and Jung and thier interpretations of dreams and the subconscious mind.

Anyway im chuffed with how this photos have turned out so i hope you like them!

glorious! i love it when artists explain meaning to their art, and even yet one better when people who comment give what they get from it. do you have one of the whole piece? i'd love to share with you. nice job!

ooh. oooh yes. the creamy texture, slightly diagramtic yet passionately lyrical, an unframable thing put in a box, big layers of texture and media....i heart it.
